10 Comics You Should Grab

May 7th was free comic book day and we just came across this interesting article.  The writer went through over 200 new comics and selected his top 10 to be on the lookout for.  Guess what?  He ranked The Mis-Adventures of Adam West #5!  Stay tuned for it’s full release in late June or early July.  Click here for the full article.

Who thinks Adam West deserves a star?  We do! ‘Starring Adam West’ is an ongoing fan-funded documentary project and fan community experiment with the goal of “finally getting Adam West a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.”  The idea is to kick-start a fan-supported campaign to convince the Hollywood chamber of commerce to give Adam a star, and document the journey on film.  It’s a story that we all hope will have a happy ending…but it needs your help! The film is being funded through contributions of any size raised on the website Kickstarter.  The larger the donation, the bigger the reward – all the way up to an Associate Producer credit and on-screen cameo in the credits.  The movement has already begun, but its future remains to be written…by you! Hollywood justice for the Caped Crusader!  Watch the film trailer and help support the cause by clicking here or on the banner at the top!

We hope you had a chance to visit the Dolby Laboratories Facebook page in the last couple weeks, install their app and enter for a chance to have Adam do a dramatic reading of one of your status updates.  As part of Dolby’s Status Update Theater campaign, Adam is helping Dolby “make everything more real, intense, and entertaining.  Even your Facebook updates.”  For the lucky among you who entered, Adam will be reading the winner’s updates live tomorrow 2/18/2011!  And even if you didn’t, you can check it out by clicking here.

Austin’s Night of the Bat

Adam West is in Austin, Texas today attending a truly unique and special event:  Austin’s Night of the Bat.  As home of the largest urban population of bats, Austin is throwing a one-day Bat-Extravaganza.  Mr. West is attending as the guest of honor and introduce a special screening of the original classic 1966 film Batman.  The theater?  None other than the Paramount, where the film premiered over 40 years ago.  The day continues with a host of special events, a welcome to Mr. West from the mayor, a concert, all culminating with a gathering to view the amazing 1.5 million bats emerge from under Congress bridge for their famous nightly flight.
